Alert users when profiles exceed a quota

Large profiles can slow user logons and logoffs, increase storage use in the user store, and lead to data loss if the storage limit is exceeded. With the Notify user when profile size exceeds quota feature, you can set a profile size quota and notify users when their profile sizes exceed it. By prompting users to manage their data before logging off, this feature helps prevent storage overload and reduce the risk of data loss.

Enable this feature using the following policies:

Notify user when profile size exceeds quota: Enables notifications for users when their profile size exceeds a specified limit.
Notification message when profile size exceeds quota: Lets you customize the notification message users receive.

To enable this feature using Group Policy, follow these steps:

Open the Group Policy Management Editor.
Access Policies > Administrative Templates: Policy definitions (ADMX files) > Citrix Components > Profile Management > Advanced settings.
Enable this feature and set a quota by completing the following steps:
1. Double-click Notify user when profile size exceeds quota. Select Enabled.
2. Enter a value for Quota (in MB). The supported quota range is 0–100,000 MB.
3. Click OK.
Customize the notification message that users receive by completing the following steps:
1. Double-click Notification message when profile size exceeds quota. Select Enabled.
2. In the Notification message field, enter the message users receive when their profile size exceeds the set quota. (Example:* Your profile size has exceeded the quota set by your administrator. Please delete unnecessary data before logging off to prevent potential data loss.) **Note: Users receive this notification every 30 minutes if their profile exceeds the quota.
3. Click OK.

Configuration precedence for both policies:

If the policy isn’t configured here, the value from the .ini file is used.
If the policy isn’t configured either here or in the .ini file, the setting is disabled.

For your changes to take effect, run the gpupdate /force command from the command prompt as documented at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/gpupdate.
