Managing Dual-Boot Devices with Scout

Dual-boot devices connect to Scout the same way any other UniconOS (formerly eLux 7) device does, with a few dual-boot-specific details:

• Silent install — zero-touch onboarding. When you install silently and pass a settings file (SETTINGS=), the device onboards to Scout automatically on the first UniconOS boot, with no prompts. The Scout server, device name, and organization unit come from that settings file.

  Note:

  Onboarding targets an on-premises Scout server only; the Scout Cloud Gateway (SCG) is not supported.

• Interactive install — manual onboarding. The wizard does not collect Scout details, so an interactively installed device does not onboard automatically. On its first UniconOS boot, complete onboarding on the device: enter the Scout server, select the organization unit, and finish.
• DualBoot device type. After onboarding, the device appears in Scout with a dedicated DualBoot device type, so dual-boot devices can be identified and targeted distinctly.

Logging

The installer and its tools write logs to %ProgramData%\UniconOSDualBoot\logs (%ProgramData% is a hidden folder). Use these logs to analyze problems during installation or boot management.
