Applications in the eLux® 7 interface
This covers how to start, switch between, close, and search for applications from the eLux desktop.
Starting applications
- Double-click an application icon on the desktop to start it. A single click only selects the icon.
- In the application selection in the Start menu, click an application to start it.
- Using the keyboard, move to an icon with the arrow keys and press Enter (not Space) to start it.
Storefront and container icons always start on a single click, regardless of the desktop double-click setting.
To switch back to single-click (as in earlier eLux versions), configure the following:
| File | /setup/terminal.ini |
| Section | Desktop |
| Key | DoubleClickAppStart |
| Values |
true (default) / false
|
Set this through Scout → Advanced Configuration → File Entries, then send a configuration update and restart the device. With false, a single click starts a desktop application again, as in earlier versions.
Note:
On touch devices, set
DoubleClickAppStarttofalse. Double-tap is unreliable on a touchscreen, and with the default setting, a single tap does not start anything.
Disconnecting applications
- On the system bar, right-click the open application and then click Close.
Note: > > To close a session completely, the user must log off. In addition, the administrator can define a timeout on the server to close any inactive sessions.
Searching for applications
- Enter the search term in the search field of the application search in the Start menu.
Only the relevant applications are displayed in the application selection.
- To deactivate the search filter, click on the X in the search field.
Switching between sessions/applications and the eLux Desktop interface
- Press the key combination CTRL+ALT+D
Showing the desktop and minimizing application windows
- On the system bar, click the
icon.
